I understand why people love Maui. It is pretty beautiful...and we've only been here one day. It's also full of Canadians.

By the time we got out of the airport Tuesday night, picked up the rental van, settled in our condo and unpacked it was 1 am. It was a long travel day. And it was hot for sleeping so we didn't get a lot of sleep.

Even though we were tired, we were on the move all day. The first item on our agenda was to get provisions at Costco. I heard so much about the Costco in Maui that I really built it up in my mind to be out of this world. It was just a Costco. And pretty expensive. Things are expensive here but I guess we are on an island. Alana is considering opening a toilet paper stand to sell her Costco toilet paper for $2/roll.

After Costco we hit Walmart and Foodland. We won't starve for a few days at least. And we have enough alcohol to last us!

After lunch we went to the pool in anticipation of the Wednesday Mai Tai Pool Party. It is hot and the pool was a welcome relief. As soon as 3 pm hit, we were ready for Mai Tai's! It was bottomless Mai Tai's for an hour and 45 minutes. There was a singer/guitar player and a woman doing hula. James, Kate, Erin and I participated in the hula demonstration. We have the leis to prove it. Aunty Mary-Lou said the drinks were weak so don't let the photo below with all the empty Mai Tia cups lead you to believe anyone was intoxicated!

The BBQ areas in the complex are the perfect spot to meet to BBQ and eat together. Before dark we went over to the ocean and dipped our feet in and watched the sunset. Beautiful! James went for a little swim.
