I received a hand written thank you card today with the fabric I ordered on line. I love stationery and I am so touched when people put pen to paper to offer thanks. Why is this beautiful?
I loved the way the owner mentioned that I am helping her dreams come true. I thought I was just buying some fun fabric but at the other end of that fabric is someone who took a chance to open her dream business. Win-win! That makes my soul happy. I really believe taking the time to write a note on paper is much more meaningful and personal than an email. I felt really good about the personal touch.

I am trying to decide on the fabric I will use for the 100 blocks 100 day quilting challenge. This year I think I am going to go for a rainbow look because I have quite a bit of Tula Pink fabric. Why is this beautiful?
Colour is joyful. I love looking at different colour combinations of fabric. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by trying to pick "the right" colour combinations and then I remember - it's all good. It's for fun and play. Just like life. We did an exercise in the Divine Self series where we asked to see a "sign" in the next week. The sign that popped in my mind to look for was "regal bee". What is that? A queen bee? Over the past week, I see bees everywhere. Bee tattoos, bee fabric, bee bumper stickers, bees in my back yard, bee jewelry, skin care products with the word "bee" in the name...but nothing that seemed like a regal bee. I finally decided to accept my sign of a bee - I am pretty sure spirit was playing with me. The number of bees I was seeing was ridiculous! Why is this beautiful?
It is so fun to play with spirit. I just have to laugh and express such gratitude for the display of bees. I know I am being guided and supported every step of the way in this lifetime and that is beautiful! We were on a quick road trip and since it was a warm summer day, we checked out The Little Ice Cream & Soda Shoppe in Red Deer Why is this beautiful?
I love checking out new little places in other communities. It feeds a sense of adventure. I tried the ginger ice cream and it was superb. Definitely not a flavour I would typically choose but I was thrilled with it. Ice cream is a wonderful treat on a warm day! This little gem caught my eye as we were packing up to leave the campsite. I walked by it and then I had to come back and take a closer look. Why is this beautiful?
It is so tiny and cute and the colour popped out among all the green weeds. I love how it was small but it caught my eye and made me pay attention. I should do that more in life. I think we are sent messages but we don't pay attention to the snags. I'm not sure if birds or rodents eat the wild strawberries but I'm sure it is food for some wildlife. Maybe bears? We know there are black bears in the area and I imagine they will be looking for their fill of berries soon! Hopefully not on our campsite. We spent the weekend at the trailer and I am not able to post from there so I will post Saturday and Sunday today. We had perfect weather this weekend (except for a massive storm through the night). Watching the sunset through the trees and relaxing at the campsite followed by the perfect s'more was a great way to end the day. Our friend brought over an Areo S'more kit to try out. Why is this beautiful?
It is so peaceful just relaxing at the campsite enjoying nature and watching the sunset through the trees. Reading at the campsite seems is an acceptable thing to do whereas at home there are many other things that need to get done so reading is not a priority. This is a beautiful and delicious s'more but the actually beauty is sharing laughs and marshmallow roasting tips with our friend. I am grateful for her friendship and that we can hang out at our trailers in the summer. S'mores also remind me of camping as a kid with my family and also going to Brownie and Guide camps. My parents took us on a lot of camping adventures and sparked a love for the outdoors at a young age. I was so happy to see this bloom when I went to take the garbage out this morning. I haven't had tiger lily bloom for at least two years because the scarlet lily beetle devoured my lilies. Why is this beautiful?
My mom gave me these tiger lilies many years ago. I think she split the plant in her yard and brought some out for me. My mom knew so much about gardening and I miss asking for her advice. Goole just isn't the same. Even though I only lived in Saskatchewan for the first few years of my life, my family is all from there so the lily represents family and connection to me. I am so happy the beetles didn't totally kill off the lily after two years of infestation. The tiger lily is resilient just like all of us. Just keep growing. This is the group that prompted me to blog my daily beautiful moment. The Divine Self group meets weekly for five-week cycles and tonight was our last session until September. For privacy reasons, I don't have a photo of the group. Why is this group beautiful?
- I love these session! The course is led by the most talented, caring and welcoming soul. Thank you Debra for sharing your wisdom, awe of spirit and vulnerability. - The course allows us to learn from each other and experience spirit. We are all connected and we can see that clearly in this group. It's super cool! - The group isn't always the same but it is always comprised of beautiful souls willing to share, connect and be vulnerable. I am mesmerized by the first images that were released yesterday captured by the James Webb space telescope. The images were copied from their site Why is this beautiful?
The images are simply stunning! The starbursts (which I think are galaxies) bring me back to my childhood and watching Mork & Mindy. When Mork would call Orson there was a flash of "intergalactic" before Orson tuned in. Fun memories! I am so grateful for the brilliant scientists who are exploring, learning and sharing with all of us. Who knows what exciting discoveries we will all learn about! I received a letter today that someone donated to Victoria Hospice in memory of my dad. My dad was in hospice for 10 days in March of this year. We are fortunate that we were able to work on his final wishes before he passed. He chose Victoria Hospice as a charity that people could donate to in his memory if they wished because he was so grateful for the care he received. He was also very grateful for the care my mom received when she stayed in hospice in 2020. Why is this beautiful?
- I am touched that people are thinking of dad and donating in his memory. - Victoria Hospice is a beautiful place at a difficult time. Truthfully, the physical space is not that beautiful, it is the atmosphere created by the caring people who work there that is beautiful. - The times I spent in hospice with both my parents are incredibly special to me. We were surrounded by love and there were actually many fun times at hospice along with the sad ones. It was a time when I appreciated every moment because I knew our time together was precious. It is a good reminder to really live each moment that we have and appreciate the people in our lives. - I am grateful/honoured/humbled that I was able to be with my parents at the end of their time on earth. It truly changed me for the better. |
