We made it to Fort Lauderdale! So far our adventure has been uneventful - in a good way.

We had a busy day yesterday finishing up around the house and getting things in order. We also had pedicures (James had a manicure - I did not) and I spent a lot of time obsessing over the grey boots. To bring or not to bring. We are not sure what to expect for weather which made packing a bit challenging. I'm sure whatever we have will do

We left the house at about 4.50 am - too early for the dogs. They didn't even get out of bed to say goodbye.

The Edmonton airport was busy - spring break and Easter. Our US customs officer told us he used to work on the Eurodam - the ship we are sailing on. we were about to question him about why Edmonton? And he said - I'm closer to home. Our plane was de-iced and we were off to Chicago. See ya snow!

We arrived to warm, humid temperatures in Fort Lauderdale. A very welcome change! I can't quite wrap my head around the fact that we are going to Europe from here. Being in Fort Lauderdale makes me feel like we are going to the Caribbean.

We arrived at our hotel, the Westin, had some dinner and went for a walk. The warm night air is amazing!

We are looking forward to boarding the Eurodam tomorrow. We leave the hotel at 10.30 am. From what we've seen so far, James and I may be the only non-retired people on the ship! Oh well...maybe I'll learn how to play bridge.

For the record, the grey boots didn't make the cut. They saved me space and almost 2 pounds in my suitcase.
